They are employed by transportation, manufacturing, distribution and moving companies and trucking employment service agencies; urban transit systems, light rail transit operators and transportation authorities; school boards and private transportation companies; or they may be self-employed.

This minor group comprises train crew operating occupations, including railway and yard locomotive engineers, and railway conductors and brakemen/women. They are employed by railway transport companies and industrial and commercial users of rail transport.
