Ellwood Robinson

Since the company was established in Sault Ste. Marie in 1935 by Ellwood Robinson, a citizen of Sault Ste Marie, K.J. Beamish recognized the value and goodwill of maintaining the original name which was well known in the Algoma district. The company maintains an asphalt plant and 4 local gravel pits, in addition to a pit in Echo Bay. The company’s general work area extends from Wawa (220 kilometres to the north) to Elliot Lake (210 kilometres to the east). Company crews are experienced in all areas of the road building industry with expertise in excavation, granular base, hot mix paving, sewer and water main work, and concrete curbs and sidewalks. The firm’s customer base includes federal, provincial and municipal governments as well as private owners in the industrial, commercial and institutional sectors. Services are also performed in the residential sector for private homeowners.
