The Local Labour Market Planning (LLMP), formerly the Trends, Opportunities and Priorities (TOPS) report, is a community-driven strategic 1-2 year action plan of coordinated local, targeted activities to help address local labour trends, opportunities and priorities.
 
This publication is the conclusion of labour market information and input from a broad spectrum of community stakeholders gathered through our most recent LLMP consultation process.

 

          

2018 LOCAL LABOUR MARKET PLANNING REPORT (LLMP)

Algoma’s Labour Market is constantly changing and evolving. It is important to identify the trends which have an impact on our local labour markets and recognize how they will continue to affect Algoma’s workforce moving forward.

The first half of this report provides an overview of Algoma’s Labour Market and highlights the trends which are having significant impacts including the changing composition of the main sectors of employment, Algoma’s aging population and aging workforce, changes in technology and the changing nature of work.

The second half of the report offers usage patterns of Employment Ontario programs including: Employment Services, Literacy and Basic Skills, Second Career, and Trades and Apprenticeship.
