|The Algoma Workforce Investment Corporation (AWIC) is one of 26 Local Workforce Planning Boards in Ontario funded by the Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development (MLTSD) to undertake local labour market research and projects. AWIC’s vision is to serve as a leader in the identification and delivery of workforce development strategies that meet the economic and social needs of the Algoma District. AWIC is currently seeking nominations for volunteer Board Members to strengthen its existing board. We are looking for board members from the following sectors that have knowledge in the areas of employment, training and education or economic development:|
AWIC Board Members should be engaged in their local communities while at the same time be able to bring a regional perspective to their decision-making process. Board Members are to attend a minimum of 6 meetings a year or as special meetings are struck. For the time being, meetings are held online and will continue to be a mix of in-person/online once COVID restrictions are lifted.
